CinemaCon, the convention of theater owners that ran at Caesars Palace on April 23-26, brought a slew of A-list talent to the convention, including director Martin Scorsese, who revealed April 25 that he loved 3-D technology so much that if he had it to do all over again he’d shoot Taxi Driver and Raging Bull using the technique. Someone keep this man far, far away from George Lucas. … Blossom’s Joey Lawrence was at Chateau on April 28 to celebrate his 36th birthday with his brothers, Matthew and Andrew. Gorillaz are coming to Las Vegas for the first time ever. 2016’s Grammy winner for best new artist, Chance the Rapper, will return. English rockers Muse will bring their dizzying live show to the streets of Downtown. And that’s just the top of an eclectic bill that features more than 70 acts, along with comedy, interactive art installations, a group art exhibit featuring the work of Mark Ryden, Tara McPherson and Shepard Fairey and much more. Last year saw more than 137,000 attendees trod the festival footprint. Who’s ready for more?
