Local DJs collect Spin Awards, and Insert Coin(s) signs up DJ88

Las Vegas DJs are racking up the platinum records! Granted, it’s in the form of commemorative awards and not based on actual album sales, but it’s still worthy of bragging rights. JackColton.com and The Bank teamed up for the second Spin Awards on April 29, honoring the city’s best in the booth.

And the winners are:

Best Main Room DJ: Shift.

Best Female DJ: Tina T.

Best Emcee: DJ Hollywood.

Best House DJ: Scotty Boy.

Best Pool DJ: Scene.

Biggest Local Following: M!ke Attack.

Most Talented: DJ Karma.

Biggest Groupie Following: Eric D-Lux.

Best Scene DJ: Michael Toast.

Most Established DJ: Vice.

There was also a tie between Kid Conrad and Sincere for the Fastest Up-and-Coming DJ, plus the 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award, which was awarded to Wynn’s director of nightlife entertainment, Zee Zandi.

Speaking of kudos to our local spinners, congrats to DJ88, a.k.a. Bree Cohen, for her new gig as music and program director at downtown hot spot Insert Coin(s). Already blazing trails with her Wednesday night party Versus, and bringing in icons such as De La Soul and Brand Nubian, 88 also spins for Digital Love Saturdays at Coin(s).

Keeping that momentum going, 88 will launch a new Tuesday night party on May 15 called #DWNTWN. Focusing on disco, electro and indie vibes, the first installment welcomes French DJ/producer The Phantom’s Revenge alongside DJs Aurajin, Kid Conrad and resident Mikey Francis.
