Where: Tivoli Village, 496-4006; Town Square, 750-0033
The details: After struggling to find healthy food for their beloved bulldog, Trucker, couple Jillian Plaster and Ian Kester decided to cook their own. In 2008, the duo developed an organically made dog cuisine and formed the Good Dog Food Co. It was such a success that retail boutiques were opened in 2011 to house the chef-created chow. The shop is a dog lover’s haven; not only does it have a dedicated section for holistic pet care products, there’s also an impressive assortment of locally sourced handmade dog toys and accessories. Plus, the walls are adorned with pet portraits from local artists who are available to paint your pooch by appointment (call store for more details).
Shop there if … you’re looking for nutritious dog food and treats for your four-legged friend, or if you’re searching for a gift to take to your next dinner party at the home of a pup lover!
Our favorites: The deli counter jam-packed with home-made doggie biscuits.
Don’t leave the store without … the Hawaiian shirts (from $30), a selection of treats (from $1.50) and the Ultra Choke Free harness in Tulip ($30). Best-seller: the Leba III dental spray ($65).
