Bigger is better, right? It is for Angela and Matt Stabile, owners and producers of X Burlesque at the Flamingo. The couple recently bought a more spacious home in their Anthem Country Club neighborhood, moving just a few addresses down the street to a 4,600-square-foot abode better suited for their love of entertaining.
The main attractions were the open floor plan and the party-ready pool area. “We love the windows,” Angela says, “and it’s open, so when you walk in the front door you can see straight outside.” The kitchen opens to a family room, and doors lead to the backyard, which faces the golf course and features a modern pool that has a swim-up bar and square Jacuzzi tub with overflowing waterfall. “It’s a great entertaining house,” Angela says. “We throw parties all the time, and we have a Halloween and Christmas party every year. We really like having the casts from the shows over.”
Another advantage for the couple was buying a place that was move-in ready. “All we had to do was add the lighting fixtures,” says Angela, which they upgraded with multiple chandeliers, including a three-tiered crystal fixture greeting guests in the entrance, and a round metal-and-crystal light hanging above the bed in the master suite.
One area they did customize are the bedrooms of Matt’s two daughters Olivia, 10, and Isabella, 8. Both girls were given the chance to pick wall colors and fixtures. Olivia went for a mermaid theme, including a dramatic black chandelier, and the younger daughter decided on pink walls with a hot-pink bed frame to match. In Isabella’s room, one element deviates from the ultra-girly décor—a Sound Percussion drum kit, which plays like full-size drums (albeit with smaller-than-standard pieces for young musicians).
Taking in the Stabiles’ home, it’s easy to see what they find important—being with family and friends in a comfortable space. Ample square footage paired with a party-ready outdoor space is a match made in home heaven, and they didn’t have to go far to find it.
Looking into their garage reveals the Stabiles’ impressive car collection including three Porsches. But the crowning glory, and most eye-catching of the vehicles is their 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. The classic muscle car is a new addition the couple traveled all the way to Florida to buy. “My husband wanted the authentic Bandit [as in Smokey and the Bandit, the movie which made the car famous],” Angela says. “It’s fun to drive. It’s like you’re back in time.”
