Lord Stanley on Vacation

With the NHL Awards in town this week, and the Kings a short ride up Interstate 15, the Los Angeles squad got a jump on getting acclimated to Las Vegas. We’re sure the guys who have to follow the Cup wherever it goes were broken up about all this, but there was a bikini contest involved.

First, the Kings—including Trevor Lewis, Jeff Carter, Jarrett Stoll, Brad Richardson, Drew Doughty, Mike Richards, Alec Martinez and Jordan Nolan, among others—brought Lord Stanley to Tao on June 14. The next day, the crew started with a beer breakfast at their Palms suite before spending the afternoon at Wet Republic for the Hot 100 competition.

The Cup stayed cool in a cabana during the contest portion of the day (which, OK, the Cup handlers must’ve hated a little with those white gloves they had to wear in 100-plus degree heat), while Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was also there. We’re sure it was just to see the Cup and not the girls.

Later that night, the Kings went to Hyde, while Gronk went to Haze, where he busted out his spastic, nearly-shirtless dance moves in an effort, we guess, to reconnect with Super Bowl Sunday.
