If sprawling out on a picnic blanket as the sun sets and taking in a live performance isn’t part of your summer tradition, it’s time to make it one. Super Summer Theatre’s first show of the season, Crazy for You, is being performed Wednesday-Saturday through June 30. Meadow seating opens at 6 p.m., and the show starts at 8. Friday, June 22

Carnivals aren’t just for kids. The Las Vegas Natural History Museum is holding a carnival fundraiser for the 21-and-up crowd, Sundown in Downtown, featuring food, cocktails, strolling artists and live music from Kid Meets Cougar and Wild Card. Saturday, June 23

Beat the heat while getting your first look at Nathaniel Jones Park at Mountain’s Edge. Back for its 26th year, Golden Rainbow’s Ribbon of Life fundraiser features performances by some of Las Vegas’ favorite entertainers, including George Wallace and Clint Holmes, and cast members from Chippendales, Peepshow, Jubilee!, Viva Elvis and the Las Vegas Deaf Theatre. 1 p.m., 361 Symphony Park Ave., $38,

Monday, June 25

Las Vegas can be a harsh place in the summer, especially for those out on the streets. To help protect the Valley’s homeless population from the heat, HELP of Southern Nevada has partnered with Whole Foods for its HELP2O campaign, encouraging donations of water and spare change through August. Also taking place today is HELP’s 18th annual Golfer’s Roundup. Registration begins at 7 a.m. at Las Vegas Country Club.

Tuesday, June 26

One sure way to keep cool in the surging summer heat is taking in a movie. Rave Motion Picture at Town Square is making it easy for you with free G- and PG-rated flicks as part of its Family Film Festival, 10 a.m. every Tuesday and Wednesday through Aug. 22.
