What is the Los Angeles Times’ obsession with our city? This story about Lisa Medford, who claims to be the first topless showgirl on the Strip, appeared on the front page of the Times’ website. We were about to dismiss it as just another regurgitation of Vegas stereotype, but then—maybe it was the photo of Medford, now 74, standing beside a life-size cutout of herself at 19 that grabbed our attention—we started reading and couldn’t stop. Medford, who still resides here, dishes about her wild past, including the time she declined Cary Grant’s request to bear the Hollywood legend’s child. OK, Times, you win this one.
