Marsha Timson

Director of leasing and design for Las Vegas Design Center, age 62.

What she’s wearing now: Lisa Anne summer suit, Brooks Brothers shirt, Neiman Marcus red rose neckpiece, Ralph Lauren belt and glasses, Painegonda ring, Hermès cuff, Tiffany & Co. earrings and Taryn Rose shoes.

Fashion motto: Bring it on but keep it classic.

A real estate veteran charged with keeping the LVDC showrooms stocked with the top names in home and design, Timson is undoubtedly business-savvy. But her professional attire and vibrant accents set her apart from many executives. For the New Mexico transplant, colorful shades add excitement and drive the look. “Dress it up, but have fun with it, and don’t be afraid to use a lot of color,” she says. Preferring to swath herself with labels such as Theory and Kenneth Cole, Timson ensures she’s following her own style advice: “Dress appropriately for every occasion, whether you’re in the boardroom or enjoying a casual Sunday afternoon.”

Resale Chic

Don’t be shocked at the idea of buying used clothes. It’s a lot more acceptable than wearing fake fashion, and even less expensive. Secondhand shopping allows you to keep your style unique, save money and do something good for the environment. In Las Vegas, we have a plethora of resale options: vintage and resale boutiques, consignment stores and thrift shops. Each has its own benefits (and annoyances), but all require a certain strategy to ensure your journey is a productive one and results in stylish pieces at bargain-basement prices.
