Sure, you can get your culture—and your exercise, too—by walking the First Friday street fair. But if you want to see the most art for the least effort, check out the impressive cluster of spaces along the main hallway of Emergency Arts. There’s Get-Up Gallery with its variety of contemporary styles, from illustrative to street art; the thought-provoking Fifth Wall Gallery, whose latest installation features a floating ball of tennis shoes; Kleven Contemporary, a shoebox of a space curated by rising star Jen Kleven; and, down at the end, the intriguing video art of Multiplexer, curated by David Sanchez Burr. The trip will activate your mind, but not your pedometer.
