Thai-American chef Dan Coughlin—scion of the restaurant family that owns The King and I chain—has created quite the urban rage at Le Thai. The place was packed before his Thai beef and meatball noodle soup earned a Top 20 Best New Asian Dish in America nod in the latest edition of Details magazine. His pad thai and curries are outstanding, too (recipes he adapted from his grandmother), and his small restaurant makes a strong case for Downtown dining. So what if the magazine called the soup a “Best Reason to Hit the Strip”? You know better.
