What got our attention at Megan Romano’s Chocolate & Spice is that she makes the best turkey sandwich in town—roasted turkey and Gruyere cheese on multigrain bread smeared with apricot mustard, aioli, Bibb lettuce and cranberry. But, of course, the former Aureole pastry chef is more than adept at pastries, chocolate, homemade ice creams and piecrusts. Her rustic strawberry-rhubarb tart is an exquisite example of home-style cooking, which has no peer in this city.
