Seven Nights

This week in your city.

Thu 16

Thursdays are for trance! At least this Thursday is, when the veteran German DJ/production duo of Kyau & Albert takes over Splash Dance at Surrender. In preparation, we’ll be listening to their recent release “Another Time,” the video for which features footage from Electric Daisy Carnival. Check it out and see if you made a cameo! (In Encore, 10:30 p.m., We’re still on the fence about whether dogs should wear clothes more expensive than some children’s entire wardrobes, but darn it, it’s just so friggin’ cute! Things get especially adorable for the next installment of Yappy Hour, the pet-friendly party at Rumor. In remembrance of the day Elvis Presley died, both people and pooches are encouraged to dress like the King, and there will of course be a doggie-Elvis costume contest. Bring a few extra bucks to make a donation to the Animal Foundation while you’re there. (455 E. Harmon Ave., 6 p.m.,

Fri 17

If you make a track and call it “Acid, Festival, Champagne & Bitches,” you instantly have our attention. A bit reminiscent of “Money, Success, Fame, Glamour” from the Party Monster era, the catchy hook and banging beats of this progressive house track come courtesy of Sweden’s Marcus Schössow. He headlines at Vanity tonight, and if that recent musical offering is any indication—plus tracks such as “Las Vegas” and “Never Say Never”—you’re in for some delightful debauchery for sure! (In Hard Rock Hotel, 11 p.m.,

Sat 18

Birthday party time! Your Seven Nights columnist and resident EDM and DJ-culture expert will celebrate in true Las Vegas nightlife industry fashion by party-hopping all day and all night. The festivities kick off with the stellar lineup at Exquisite Fashion & Music Festival at Beachlife, featuring DJ Dan, Donald Glaude, Sandra Collins, Swedish Egil and more. (At Hard Rock Hotel, 10 a.m., But the official birthday shenanigans get going at Insert Coin(s), where DJ 88 and crew have arranged complimentary entry to Vegas Seven readers who use the (semi) secret super-special birthday password of “Boo-boo Kitty F—ck” at the door! No, really. That’s the password. (512 E. Fremont St., 10 p.m., And what would a birthday in Las Vegas be without keeping it going until the sun comes up? We’ll then stumble into Artisan Afterhours, where our buddy Svast will provide the underground tunes for some “auralfixation.” (1501 W. Sahara Ave., 2 a.m., On the other hand if you don’t give a rat’s ass about birthdays, over at the Boulevard Pool, Chelsea Handler is having a party to launch the new Belvedere Lemon Tea. Something tells us there might be free samples … (At the Cosmopolitan, 2:30 p.m.,

Sun 19

Here’s a rarity we’re stoked for: Pendulum, yes the drum and bass outfit Pendulum, will be spinning a rare DJ set (well, at least rare for Las Vegas). So power through any possible hangovers from Saturday night and head over to Marquee Dayclub, because who knows when we’ll get another chance now that some of the group members are focusing on Knife Party. Also on the docket is a set by 12th Planet to keep those wobbly bass lines bumping. (At the Cosmopolitan, 10 a.m., On the new party front, Sinergy Sundays launches at Hookah Palace tonight for an 18+ party. Julian Todd, BreadMan Lives, Showka, Ego’s ID and more spin two rooms of music spanning nearly every EDM genre you can think of, complete with Body Talk go-gos, cheap drinks and hookah. (1030 E. Flamingo Road, 10 p.m., **UPDATED Aug. 16, 10:41 a.m.: Sinergy Sundays will now be held at Las Vegas Production Studios behind the Palms, 4290 Las Vegas Studio Ct., and is now 21+**)

Mon 20

The duo of Sultan & Ned Shepard might be unfamiliar to newbie clubbers by name, but their remixes of Kaskade, Nadia Ali, Morgan Page and Madonna have been in heavy rotation in your favorite superstar DJs’ sets for years. Rising through the ranks, they’ll return to XS for the next installment of their Wynn residency. We won’t tell anyone if you happen to call in sick for work on Tuesday. (At Encore, 10 p.m.,

Tue 21

We’re starting to see the duo Bassjackers pop up all over Las Vegas. They’ve already dominated the Beatport charts with their track “Mush Mush” (you’ll totally recognize it when you hear it) and are conquering Las Vegas dance floors. Catch them next at 1 Oak. (In The Mirage, 10:30 p.m.,

Wed 22

Before Krave moves to its new home and becomes Krave Massive in Neonopolis—also making it the largest gay nightclub in the world—get in some partying at its current location so you can rack up on the “I’ve been going to Krave since back in the day” stories. On the agenda for tonight: WTF Wednesdays, with drinking games and dance contests. Plus if you text “GAY” to 313131 and show the text at the door, you’ll get 2-for-1 drinks. Score. (In the Miracle Miles Shops, 10:30 p.m.,

Thu 9 Before big basslines ran rampant in Las Vegas, Konkrete Jungle was bringing the beats. Celebrating its five-year anniversary at King’s Room tonight, junglists APX1 & CRS? are onboard along with Nickum, Chuck B, Nicro, MC Agez and BPSS. (In the Rio, 10 p.m., Sake is for more than just slamming shots during a sushi dinner with friends.
