Tao onboard with Team USA

If you can’t get the entire Olympic Village to come to your club, bring the club to the Olympic Village, we always say. No, seriously, we say that all the time. It’s just that usually it doesn’t actually come true.

This time, though, Tao Group put together a nightlife spot for American Olympians on Aug. 11 in London’s Roundhouse as the sponsor-approved Club Bud.

Checking in were Dwyane Wade, Gabrielle Union, Spice Girl Mel B, Hope Solo, Lolo Jones, Apolo Ohno (whose 100-meter hurdles in speed skates was terrible), decathlon silver medalist Trey Hardee, gymnasts Sam Mikulak and John Orozco, and members of the gold-winning women’s water polo team. Jealous, much, silver-medal-winning Spanish women’s water polo team? Thought so.

The following evening, Swizz Beatz headlined the club as Kobe Bryant made the smart move to finally bring his wife out when he was partying in London. Carmelo Anthony and Lala were there—and she was wearing a leopard dress just like Vanessa Bryant. Nas turned up to get onstage, which, we’re assuming, marks the first time a roomful of Olympians has jammed to “Made You Look.”
