David Perisset and Romain Thievin

CEOs of Exotics Racing Las Vegas; age 33.

What they’re wearing now: (on Perisset) Stanbridge Paris shirt and suit, Canali belt, Berluti shoes, Arnette sunglasses and IWC Portuguese watch; (on Thievin) Dolce & Gabbana shirt, Bikkemberg jacket, Diesel pants, Dior belt and shoes, Armani sunglasses and Rolex watch.

Fashion motto? “You don’t need a lot to look expensive; it’s just a question of good taste,” Perisset says.

Style icon: “Steve McQueen—the king of cool. With the simplest style, he was always classy—a pair of jeans, a leather jacket and some sunglasses. That’s it, and, of course a nice car,” Thievin says.

Friends since their teens, it’s no wonder the duo behind Exotics Racing possesses similar tastes in fashion. Thievin, a five-time French champion driver, and Perisset, a former investment banker, both pinpoint Christian Dior as a favored menswear designer, and both insist the watch is the ultimate accessory, with Thievin preferring a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona to Perisset’s Audemars Piguet. And neither denies the effect growing up in Europe had on their personal style. “A person’s way of dressing is very important in France,” Thievin says. Perisset concurs: “Being born and raised in Paris—the fashion capital of the world—helps. Everyone dresses up a lot.”

Is This Vegas or Am I Dreaming?

If you are like me and you have lived in Vegas so long you can’t live without Vegas even when you travel, make sure and check into the Dream Downtown on your next break to New York City. Not only will Las Vegans find familiar faces right and left (Thanks to the fact that the rooftop bar PH-D and lobby restaurant Marble Lane are kin to Vegas’ Tao Group) but the thumping DJ in the lobby and stylish crowd will make you feel as if you never left the desert, save for the better weather this time of year.
