Marc Anthony follows show with 44th

Speaking of Latin heartthrobs (and when aren’t we?), Marc Anthony was in town Sept. 14 for his Gigant3s show with Antonio Solis and Chayanne at Mandalay Bay, and stayed on another night to celebrate his 44th birthday at Tao.

Anthony was with his girlfriend, Shannon De Lima, and Jada Pinkett Smith, who had the night off from sculpting Willow’s inevitable early 20s Dana Plato-style breakdown. Anthony and company started the night off in the restaurant before moving to the club, where Mario Lopez delivered birthday wishes.

Michael Buffer shouted out Anthony’s birthday, and a Frank Sinatra impersonator crooned “Luck Be a Lady.” As long as that lady isn’t Jennifer Lopez, anyway. The lucky part was Anthony trading J-Lo for someone hotter and (probably) less crazy.

Cassette tapes have gone the way of the laser disc and the eight-track, but the concept of a “mixtape” is here to stay. Mick Boogie deftly cultivates that particular musical experience with each of the 35-plus free unique downloads on his website. We caught up with the mixtape maestro to chat about hip-hop, reworking Adele and collaborating with his idol, Jazzy Jeff, before he translates his musical stylings live during his Sept. 22 gig at Hyde in Bellagio.
