Even Famous People Want to Run on the Strip

You can’t have a Rock ’n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon without a gaggle of Elvii running down a closed-to-traffic Strip. You also apparently can’t have one without suspended Saints coach Sean Payton running the half-marathon Dec. 2 (in 2 hours, 18 minutes—apparently he realizes how desperately New Orleans needs a cornerback and is working on his speed).

Payton wasn’t the only one with time on his hands. Kate Gosselin also ran the half-marathon, finishing in 474th place with a time of 2:10. Maybe Payton should’ve spit out a few more kids.

Also running were Nikki Reed of Twilight, American Idol Season 10’s Paul McDonald, Cougar Town’s Nicole Sullivan and Sean Lowe, from The Bachelor’s Season 17. So “not being able to drive near the Strip on a Sunday night” is one more thing you can blame on Twilight, American Idol and The Bachelor.

DJ Profile

3LAU Haus

By Deanna Rilling

There is hope for the next generation of electronic music producers, and he goes by 3LAU (pronounce the 3 like a B). Within the first few minutes of speaking with 21-year-old Justin Blau, one can already tell he’s not the average fan-turned-DJ. A Las Vegas native, 3LAU is more recognized on the national/international circuit. The articulate 3LAU is wise beyond his years, so much so that he could be mistaken for an insightful industry vet. We got some time with the worldly spinner before his Dec. 3 gig at Marquee.
