Even Famous People Want to Run on the Strip

You can’t have a Rock ’n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon without a gaggle of Elvii running down a closed-to-traffic Strip. You also apparently can’t have one without suspended Saints coach Sean Payton running the half-marathon Dec. 2 (in 2 hours, 18 minutes—apparently he realizes how desperately New Orleans needs a cornerback and is working on his speed).

Payton wasn’t the only one with time on his hands. Kate Gosselin also ran the half-marathon, finishing in 474th place with a time of 2:10. Maybe Payton should’ve spit out a few more kids.

Also running were Nikki Reed of Twilight, American Idol Season 10’s Paul McDonald, Cougar Town’s Nicole Sullivan and Sean Lowe, from The Bachelor’s Season 17. So “not being able to drive near the Strip on a Sunday night” is one more thing you can blame on Twilight, American Idol and The Bachelor.

Meatball Spot Passes the Pauly D Test

By Jason Scavone

Carla Pellegrino’s Meatball Spot is quickly becoming a place to dine among celebrities, which is no surprise given that it’s brought to you by some of the same people behind Sugar Factory and Chateau. Though maybe it got a boost from Pellegrino’s Episode 3 win on Top Chef: Seattle, as long as no one actually watched her nearly saw her hand off. Whatever the reason, the absolutely inevitable just happened: A Las Vegas Italian restaurant with deep celeb connections got Pauly D to eat there.
