It’s no secret that Bill’s Gambling Hall will shutter to undergo major renovations come Feb. 3, but details surrounding the project are just now starting to emerge. During the renovations, Victor Drai is poised to move his famed aterhours spot over to Bally’s in the present Indigo Bar space that used to Bally’s Diamond Lounge.
Once Bill’s completes its chrysalis by year end, the uber-hip Gansevoort Hotel Group — with its Hotel Gansevoort in New York City a Meatpacking District destination — is set to handle operations for Caesars Entertainment, and Drai’s Afterhours will move back to its former, albeit renovated, home.
Although the Afterhours’ reopening will coincide with that of the Gansevoort, the rooftop megaclub is not slated to debut until 2014 (much like how the W Hollywood opened before Drai opened his eponymously named rooftop bacchanal shortly after the hotel opening). As for the rooftop aesthetics, look for a blend of what Drai has done at XS and in Hollywood and expect a kick-ass sound system.
