First Friday: A Sneak Peek

Welcome to Vegas Seven’s version of Preview Thursday, an interactive portal displaying some of the art that will be featured during downtown’s First Friday art walk and the real-life Preview Thursday. This month’s art ranges from the risqué (Sin City Gallery) to the futuristic (robot paintings at Trifecta Gallery). Highlights include out-of-this-world ceramics at Other Voices Gallery, perception-bending photography at the Clark County Government Center and vibrant paintings at TastySpace. Go ahead and browse through our collection to plan your evening—because seeing art before anyone else is the cool thing to do. – Ashley Gates

Stream of Country

By Danny Axelrod

After 19 years on the road and almost as many albums filled with humorous and heartfelt material, alt-country singer-songwriter Todd Snider resembles a Texas troubadour along the lines of his hero and mentor Jerry Jeff Walker. The 46-year-old East Nashville, Tennessee, veteran has carved out a niche as an authentic storytelling voice, a folk guitarist writing about society’s lovable knuckleheads, fuckups and outliers.
