Vegas Uncork’d: A Mouthwatering Preview

From tiramisu lollipops to tamarind margaritas, Wednesday's Hakkasan SF event offers a taste of the festival to come.

At 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, 150 VIP guests will gather at Hakkasan San Francisco to sample the programming that will be offered at Vegas Uncork’d by Bon Appetit May 9-12. Billed as an “Around the World on One Strip” food extravaganza, the event features chefs and sommeliers from Bellagio, Caesars Palace, Mandalay Bay and MGM Grand presenting bites from England, Spain, Italy, Japan, Mexico and China.

We hear that Gordon Ramsay Steak’s Christina Wilson will serve sticky toffee pudding. Julian Serrano will make red sangria to pair with Hakkasan’s signature dishes. Master Sommelier Jason Smith and Executive Pastry Chef Sylvain Bortolini are working on a selection of amaro and tiramisu lollipops to add an Italian flair. We also hear Michael Mina will be mixing GoGo Yubari whiskey cocktails to pair with Japanese wagyu beef, and of course Mary Sue Milliken will serve her Mexican tamarind margarita. Chef Charlie Palmer plans to stay American and will serve juicy, domestically sourced oysters. And Hakkasan’s Michelin-starred Chef Ho will be preparing a Chinese menu, complete with Peking duck with caviar and even a green tea cotton candy to go with all the above fare.

Experience it all for yourself in a few short months. Click here for the Vegas Uncork’d schedule.

Chef Edward Duncan of Amigo’s Fiesta Henderson originally created this creamy, seafood-infused dip for a wine dinner. It was such a hit that he added some extra spice and decided to put it on the menu for game day.
