After naming its Fab Four Vegas production The Beatles LOVE, Cirque du Soleil is sticking to that Legend Name/One-Word Descriptor formula, calling its upcoming King of Pop extravaganza Michael Jackson ONE.

Announced Thursday, the title is the final puzzle piece for the collaboration between the Jackson estate and Cirque, which will open at Mandalay Bay for previews on May 23, with an official opening scheduled for June 29.

“The partnership with Cirque du Soleil and the estate of Michael Jackson represents an extraordinary moment for Mandalay Bay,” said Chuck Bowling, the property’s president and chief operating officer, in a prepared statement. “We are in the midst of a major transformation at this resort, introducing a new set of experiences for our guests. Michael Jackson ONE is truly the crown jewel in that transformation.”

Show creators say that the title refers to Jackson’s ability to fuse divergent musical styles, as well as “his message … of unity, harmony and hope for a better world.”

Michael Jackson ONE is a follow-up venture for Cirque and the Jackson estate, which previously joined up to create 2011’s Michael Jackson THE IMMORTAL World Tour that was staged at Mandalay Bay and is currently touring Europe.

Combining Cirque’s signature elaborate acrobatics and Jackson’s music, ONE will be directed by Jamie King, who also helmed THE IMMORTAL and began his career as a dancer on Jackson’s Dangerous world tour in 1992-93.

“As a creative challenge, this project is the ultimate,” said Daniel Lamarre, Cirque’s president and chief executive officer, in the same statement. “Through the use of cutting-edge technology, we will produce a new Cirque du Soleil theatrical experience not only respectful of Michael’s legacy but also very distinctive from Michael Jackson THE IMMORTAL World Tour.”

Performances for Michael Jackson ONE will be 7 p.m. Saturdays-Wednesdays. Tickets, which go on sale March 7, will range from $69-$110, plus taxes and fees, and will be available around four months prior to the desired performance date.
