Hope for Ogden’s Harvest

Serious food lovers were saddened when Las Vegas lost Bradley Ogden, one of America’s truly iconic restaurants, following a long run at Caesars Palace. Ogden did one of the best burgers in the world on his bar menu, had relationships with dozens of our best artisanal food producers, and his desserts, such as butterscotch pudding, have an international following.

Well, it’s time to celebrate: The famed chef/restaurateur will return to Las Vegas this year with a new concept, Harvest & Hops, at Tivoli Village in the space recently vacated by Bottles & Burgers. Ogden plans to work with Bill Feather, a partner at View Wine Bar & Kitchen and Poppy Den, which are also at Tivoli Village. An official opening date for the new restaurant has yet to be announced. Welcome back, Brad. You’ve been missed.

A visit to Downtown’s Velveteen Rabbit confirmed for this concerned cocktailian that while owners Pamela and Christina Dylag missed the slated late-January opening, all is well in hand. The diminutive craft beer-and-cocktail bar at 1218 S. Main Street is on track for the end of March, and judging by the look of things, it will be worth the wait.
