The exact dates for Downtown’s Life Is Beautiful Festival have yet to be announced, but the board of culinary advisors that will guide the two-day music, food and arts event to tasteful completion this fall was announced last week, and it’s impressive. Chairing the pantheon of culinary deities will be brothers Bruce and Eric Bromberg of Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill in the Cosmopolitan. Also lending their considerable talents, committee members include Kim Canteenwalla (Honey Salt), Hubert Keller (Fleur de Lys) and Rick Moonen (RM Seafood). But it won’t just be locals crafting the festival’s dining component; the event will also benefit from the contributions of Chris Cosentino (San Francisco), Donald Link (New Orleans) and Jonathan Waxman (New York), as well as former Las Vegan Jet Tila, now in L.A. Offering a macro view—not to mention, their names—are TV’s Scott Conant and Michael Mina. This should be tasty.
A Peek at Life Is Beautiful 2017
Gorillaz are coming to Las Vegas for the first time ever. 2016’s Grammy winner for best new artist, Chance the Rapper, will return. English rockers Muse will bring their dizzying live show to the streets of Downtown. And that’s just the top of an eclectic bill that features more than 70 acts, along with comedy, interactive art installations, a group art exhibit featuring the work of Mark Ryden, Tara McPherson and Shepard Fairey and much more. Last year saw more than 137,000 attendees trod the festival footprint. Who’s ready for more?
