Nevada Has Plastic Priorities

Las Vegas is often chided for its inauthenticity, so is it any surprise that our state’s highest paid public employee is a plastic surgeon?

According to an infographic on Deadspin.com, Nevada is one of just 10 states in which the highest-paid public employee isn’t a basketball, football or, yes, a hockey coach. Topping our list is Dr. William Zamboni, a plastic surgeon at the University of Nevada School of Medicine, who received $1.3 million in total pay and benefits in 2011, according to TransparentNevada.com. Just imagine how much he might earn if he could get UNLV past the first round of the NCAA tournament.
