Today through Saturday you’ll be in the company of casino memorabilia collectors for the 21st annual Casino Collectibles Convention. Chips, tokens, cards, room keys, if it has do with gambling someone will have it for sale. Visit for hours and ticket information.

Friday, June 21

And today through Sunday at South Point, you’ll be in the company of those who understand that scrapbooking isn’t just for grandma anymore. Creating Keepsakes magazine is in town to school you in the art of flowers, flip-its, pop-up cards, etc. If you know what we’re talking about you’ve probably already made a reservation.

Saturday, June 22

The DjangoVegas! Gypsy Jazz Concert, an annual favorite of ours, returns at 5 p.m. at the Historic Fifth Street School. Have a cocktail and hear hot, local jazz musicians celebrate the music of legendary guitarist Django Reinhardt.

Sunday, June 23

Hope you haven’t tapped out on energy just yet. There’s a whole lot of rowdiness to witness when the Future Stars of Wrestling show slams down at Sam’s Town. Will Suburban Commandos retain their Tag Team Champion title? Well, with a name like that they’re already a winner. Doors at 4 p.m., $13-24,

Enough with body slams, back to the culture! Henderson is choc-a-bloc with it, including a new exhibit of works by artist Sergio Ochoa at the Multigenerational Center, 250 S. Green Valley Pkwy. Let’s toss a little science into the mix. Now through the end of August, the Mote Marine Laboratory’s Sea Trek program is visiting the Las Vegas Natural History Museum with three exhibitions: Sea Monsters, Discovery Reef and Sanctuary Reef. Wednesday, June 26

On June 13, Governor Brian Sandoval vetoed Senate Bill 221, Nevada’s version of the law requiring universal background checks for firearm purchase and closing the so-called gun-show loophole.
