Vegas Seven and Bols Bartending Academy are looking for Las Vegas’ Best Bartender. And we’re not messing around! June 25, we’ll put competitors through a grueling, all-day gauntlet of four tests: knowledge, speed and efficiency, creativity and mixology, and service and personality. Whittling down the competition will be a panel of judges including Lucas Bols USA brand develelopment and education manager Anthony Pullen, Wirtz Beverage Nevada beverage development specialist and USBG Las Vegas chapter president Andrew Pollard, Herbs & Rye owner Nectaly Mendoza, the Cosmopolitan’s Vesper bar GM Christopher Hopkins and yours truly, Vegas Seven’s own resident cocktailian. The top four move on to the style and professionalism round (read: a huge party July 10 at Commonwealth!), where the big winner will be announced. There are still a few slots open for last-minute entries, so if you think you have what it takes, email AnthonyPullen@lucasbols.com for the full rules, prizes, recipes and regulations. Then drink your OJ and show up prepared!

And that’s just the top of an eclectic bill that features more than 70 acts, along with comedy, interactive art installations, a group art exhibit featuring the work of Mark Ryden, Tara McPherson and Shepard Fairey and much more. Last year saw more than 137,000 attendees trod the festival footprint. Who’s ready for more?
