Standing out amid the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas is no easy feat, but Helene Pearl-Zurlo manages it with panache. While most of us are happy to leave the house in one piece, the professional personal shopper regularly departs wearing fashion-forward pieces by obscure Belgian designers with a dash of Chanel pearls. Her secret weapon? An acute fashion instinct that allows her to spontaneously dress with the precision of a big-time fashion editor. “I kind of just throw things on as I go along, and eventually it all works out,” she says, describing her style as an avant-garde blend of New York roots with time spent living among the stars in SoCal. A typical day’s look might showcase tailored pieces by Yohji Yamamoto or Haider Ackermann, topped with jewelry sourced from antique stores or one of Pearl-Zurlo’s favorite pieces: a fur cape purchased in Italy.
