Anthony Bennett sure made the most of his one season at UNLV.
The former Runnin’ Rebel had no trouble in the job market, as Bennett officially signed his rookie contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday. According to media reports, the deal for the No. 1 NBA draft pick could be worth as much as $22.8 million over four years.
That’s $23.6 million in Canadian dollars, so I fully expect Bennett (a Brampton, Ontario native) to make it rain the next time he hits up a Tim Hortons. Or an Esso Station. Or a Sobeys. (These Canada jokes doing anything for you?)
So no matter how he plays early in the season, I’m guessing it’s going to be a happy Boxing Day in the Bennett household.
