Hurry to catch the tail end of Oktoberfest at Public House in the Venetian. Executive chef Anthony Meidenbauer has put together a Lebensmittel & Bier pairing menu available now through October 5: Fresh baked pretzel with a sauce trio and beer bratwurst with brews including Firestone Oaktoberfest, Ballast Point Oktoberfest and Ayinger Oktoberfest. If that doesn’t grab you, the place offers more than 200 beers and 24 taps including cask ales.

More than 3,000 beer lovers turned out for the Downtown Brew Festival on September 21. Not one for downtime, Motley Brews’ Brian Chapin has already announced Brew Local, an all-Nevada craft-brewer fest 3-7 p.m. November 2 at Village Square (home to Chicago Brewing Co.), hosted by the Nevada Craft Brewers Association with proceeds benefiting the Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation. The catch: There are only 1,200 tickets available.

On the Strip, Andrea’s in Encore debuted its fall cocktail menu Wednesday, now with four beer cocktails, including the Samurai Fury (Ciroc coconut, Funkin Brazilian mixer, Chili Devil Beer, kaffir lime) and The Gunner (Jameson, Disaronno, sweet ’n’ sour, egg white, Innis & Gunn Irish Whiskey Cask). Starting October 8, try the Tuesday Ramen Burger & Beer cocktail pairing featuring Ramen Burger Sliders (with pan-fried ramen “buns”) and your choice of beer cocktail. $23 pairing, 770-3463.

Looking further out, the team behind Pop Up Pizza at the Plaza will open Bier Garten at the same hotel in mid-November, an German-inspired indoor/outdoor new spot at the front of that property. The tagline of “Beercraft and Foodery” would be in  reference to craft brews and artisan sausages by chef Michael Vakneen. Coolest factor: real grass under the picnic and ping-pong tables.
