Diet of Sex
This Spanish sexual comedy from director Borja Brun will have its world premiere at PollyGrind and definitely breaks the mold of the festival’s usual grindhouse fare. Midnight Oct. 11.
Buried in Flesh
Two Adam Ahlbrandt slasher flicks, The Cemetery and Cross Bearer, are being shown as a double feature called Buried in Flesh. If you’ve ever wanted to see a hammer-wielding, homicidal, vigilante Jesus Christ, this is your chance. 8:20 p.m. Oct. 9.
The Asylum–that’s the company that brought you this year’s cult hit Sharknado–presents the latest in its series of apocalyptic thrillers based on superstitious dates (following 11/11/11 and 12/12/12). 2:15 p.m. Oct. 9.
The Nevada premiere of a movie about a diminutive monster that becomes homicidal unless it gets high. Yes, this is likely the next Leprechaun in the making. Midnight Oct. 10.
Director Adam Rehmeier took the top prize at PollyGrind in 2011 for his disturbingly violent, borderline snuff film The Bunny Game, but Jonas is a completely different beast: one with artful, religious overtones and alternately discomforting and amusing improvisation. It’s being presented as originally intended, as six individual “verses.” 2 p.m. Oct. 9 and 13; 8 p.m. Oct. 9-10 and 12; 4 p.m. Oct. 11.
