Who: Dina Mitchell
What: Area developer for Tropical Smoothie
Every couple of years: I’ll try to reinvent my style. My closet is actually pretty good evidence of that. I have everything from business suits to jeans and a blazer to more of the bohemian style. Past boyfriends have influenced the type of clothes I buy, too. I’ve learned to spend a little bit of extra money on clothes, because they can be something I can use forever.
I usually: go to Saks and Neiman Marcus to shop. Rag & Bone and Armani are my favorite designers. I love an Armani suit and a classic look. I try not to be too trendy. Trendy maybe with my shoes, maybe with my jewelry, but otherwise I try to be very classic.
It was almost 13 years ago: to the day that I was looking for something new to do. I originally thought of opening a cool, funky coffee shop, but I didn’t know enough about that business. After researching I came across Tropical Smoothie. I flew out to Florida and tried every single thing on the menu. I got back to Las Vegas and purchased the rights, and I was off to open my first store.
I’m really big into: fantasy football. I’ve joined a league that’s playing for charity. I’d never done it before, so I got a crash course from a friend. I kind of faked my way through the draft, but ever since I’ve researched the heck out of it. I actually have the highest score of the league. I know more about football than I ever knew before.
