NYE Advice From …DJ Chuckie

The Dirty Dutch master spins at Marquee

dj_chuckie_no_credit_WEBWhat’s your best New Year’s Eve memory? This past New Year’s Eve, I was lucky enough to celebrate twice! I started out in Sydney on a yacht near the Opera House for a private event. About 1:30 a.m., my group flew into Las Vegas and arrived with plenty of time before midnight. After a wonderful dinner at Lavo, we went to the terrace right on the Strip and celebrated at midnight again, then partied till 9 a.m.!

Worst New Year’s Eve memory?Three years ago I was supposed to do a show in Santiago, Chile. All of the tickets were sold out, I flew all the way from Europe and, upon arrival, the promoter told me that there was something wrong with their permit so they had to cancel.

Thoughts on noisemakers? As a kid I grew up celebrating with firecrackers. I remember how much I enjoyed them, so it’s all good to me. Sometimes I wish that I could be that kid again and shoot firecrackers with my friends all night long. I would trade any fancy New Year’s Eve for that.

Things to avoid? People who are really drunk. You don’t want to end up having a pointless argument on the best night of the year.

Any New Year’s Eve fashion do’s and don’ts? It’s all about suits and ties on New Year’s Eve. I think that it’s an absolute must to present yourself in the best way possible at midnight.

Champagne or shots at midnight? I like to keep the tradition alive on New Year’s Eve, so it’s Champagne all the way!
