Hipsters unite!

L.A. indie pop band Capital Cities brought an assortment of extended dance breaks in the form of this year’s coolest radio hits. “Safe & Sound” and “Farah Fawcett Hair” mixed the band’s synthesized production with live instrumentation and allowed lead singer Ryan Merchant to groove while Spencer Ludwig belted out trumpet solos. Capital Cities covered the Bee Gees’ “Staying Alive” and Madonna’s “Holiday” with their own “indietronica” flavor.

During an encore to the EDM remix of “Safe & Sound,” the musicians lost their instruments, came to the front of the stage and led the audience in a synchronized jumping exercise. ★★★☆☆
