Cirque du Soleil’s one-off benefit production One Night for One Drop returns for its second annual performance on March 21 at the Michael Jackson One Theatre at Mandalay Bay ($225-$325).
This elaborate show features more than 100 Cirque du Soleil performers, the Tenors and honorary event committee chairman Neil Patrick Harris. However, the one act we’re really curious about is the return of Los Angeles-based rapper, songwriter and slam poet IN-Q. The National Poetry Slam champion performs the college circuit, writes music for TV movies and … has helped pen songs for Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez.
IN-Q will perform his spoken-word poem, “Mirrors.” “It’s that we’re walking mirrors for each other,” he says. “It’s a reminder to the audience and myself.” One Drop’s communications director Pien Bowler, who saw a rehearsal, says, “He just started speaking, and he has a way of grabbing people inside. It was breathtaking.”
