Handbag Globalism Comes to Crystals

For handbag lovers, it’s another sign that Las Vegans don’t need to go far for world-class shopping: On May 14, the French luxury brand Céline opened its first Las Vegas boutique, a 4,300-square-foot space in The Shops at Crystals. The store launches with designer Phoebe Philo’s spring/summer 2014 collection of ready-to-wear leather goods and accessories.

In the six years since she came on board, Philo has reshaped Céline’s aesthetic both on and off the runway, and her influence on the industry is evident in one of the hottest handbags of the season: the Trapeze (pictured). The purse was introduced in 2011, and its unique silhouette—highlighted by protruding, wing-like gussets—had an immediate influence on the handbag industry. Since then, Philo has offered the style in http://www.vinegarhillhouse.com/generic/ a wide array of colors and finishes.

The Crystals location will be Céline’s fourth boutique in the U.S., after New York, Beverly Hills and Miami.
