Inspire News Café, the coffeehouse and newsstand on the southeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Fremont Street, has just the thing you need to level out your spring fever: lots and lots and lots of magazines, including such hipster favorites as Make, McSweeney’s, Lucky Peach, Imbibe and Adbusters. I hit Inspire every week, and if I’m lucky enough to stop in on a restocking day, I pick those Lucky Peaches straight from the tree. See that copy of McSweeney’s No. 46 up there? It never even made it to the racks. I bought it right out of the box, wrenching it from an employee’s hands like Kanye on Taylor. Seriously, if you’re at all into reading (and if you’ve read this far, I’m just gonna assume), Inspire News Café needs to be part of your weekly routine.
A Peek at Life Is Beautiful 2017
Gorillaz are coming to Las Vegas for the first time ever. 2016’s Grammy winner for best new artist, Chance the Rapper, will return. English rockers Muse will bring their dizzying live show to the streets of Downtown. And that’s just the top of an eclectic bill that features more than 70 acts, along with comedy, interactive art installations, a group art exhibit featuring the work of Mark Ryden, Tara McPherson and Shepard Fairey and much more. Last year saw more than 137,000 attendees trod the festival footprint. Who’s ready for more?
