NYC Hotspot Carbone Rumored to be Coming to Aria

White-hot New York City chef Mario Carbone and partner Rich Torrisi plan to bring an outpost of their Greenwich Village standout Carbone–where Jerry Seinfeld, Jay-Z and Kanye West are regulars–to Aria come September, a source familiar with the project tells DailyFiasco.

A rep from MGM issued a flat no-comment.

Carbone and Torrisi’s Major Food Group started with the launch of Torrisi Italian Specialties in 2010–by day a deli, by night a seven-course tasting menu foodie jam. Then they opened the sammich shop Parm, which got its own outpost in Yankee Stadium in 2011. Carbone, the gussied-up red-sauce joint, opened in March 2013, and now the expansion is on. They’ve got a French bistro, a bagel shop, a lighter-fare Italian joint and a slew of new Parms coming in New York too–and a kiss-the-ring New York Times profile to go with it. Seems about the right time to look past the boroughs.
