UNLV Gets a Bavington

If you follow the art scene, you already know London-born artist Tim Bavington’s music-inspired paintings. If you follow the performing arts scene, you know his brightly colored tubular sculpture outside The Smith Center, “Fanfare for the Common Man.” And if you follow the food scene, you know his piece in Spago at the Forum Shops at Caesars. Now, here’s another reason to know Bavington: The Vegas import just joined the faculty of UNLV’s art department. In doing so, the artist returns to teach at the place where he once earned his master of fine arts, studying under the famed art critic and teacher Dave Hickey. We’re excited to see a Vegas success story sign on to help guide the next generation of artists.
