Gamers, there are two things you should be aware of. One: Sony PlayStation turns 20 this year. Two: It’s going to celebrate with us.
Prepare for epic game salivation this weekend as PlayStation Experience hits the Venetian for the first time. During the two-day event, you’ll have access to over 400,000 square feet of round-the-clock gaming. Get your hands on PlayStation 4’s blockbuster lineup before it even hits stores. With releases such as Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Batman: Arkham Knight and Battlefield Hardline slated for the year to come, you’re going to have your hands full.
Exclusive developer panels will give your thumbs a much-needed break. Sit in on Telltale Games’ panel and you’ll hear how the team cooked up their award-winning The Walking Dead game. Fans of the Far Cry series will learn the stories behind Far Cry 4’s open world, Kyrat, and what it took to build it from the pixel up.
Check out how PlayStation uses performance capture to transform real actors into fictional game characters. Those attending can recreate scenes from the PS3 exclusives The Last of Us and God of War.
Want to break into the game industry? Jump into a panel conversation with a diversified group of game designers who’ve seen the fruits of their labor over the years. Among the tribe are Naughty Dog’s Doug Holder and Quentin Cobb, Parker Hamilton of SuckerPunch, San Diego Studio’s Ramone Russell and Ovosonico’s own Massimo Giuarni.
Other panels include Music Magic, where batches of Sony composers talk shop about marrying music with emotion. Game score buffs won’t want to miss it.
With all this said, don’t leave without seeing Project Morpheus. The virtual reality headset debuts for the first time in North America at PlayStation Experience. Even betters news: you’ll have access to a live demo of the VR headset to experience what a new era of gaming feels like.
Once you’ve combed through everything PlayStation Experience has to offer, curl up for the Story Time panel. Here you’ll be able to pick the brains of PlayStation’s top leaders in an Ask Me Anything session.
