In Fugue Brings the Hardcore

Plus: Marion Write comes home and M. Wonder makes a "dancer" anthem

Listen to the latest releases from local artists. In this week’s edition: stream hardcore band In Fugue’s new EP, watch the latest video from rapper Marion Write and hear M. Wonder’s ode to art of dance.

In Fugue – Ugly Noose EP [Stream]

In Fugue‘s new Ugly Noose EP is six tracks of sonic savagery, full of frenzied drums, heavy riffs and guttural screams. This is that crack-a-rib-in-a-moshpit music. Stream it for free, or just buy it for a buck. If you’re more old school, you can pick up a limited-edition cassette for $5. Walkman sold separately.

Marion Write – “Annie Oakley” [Video]

My favorite cut off of Marion Write‘s Black Gold, which I told y’all to download in the very first Hear Now, got the visual treatment recently. Earnest and raw, it’s a song about lost love over a crackly sample of Willie Hutch’s “Baby Come Home.” The video finds Marion crooning while sitting on a stoop in New York—New York, she’s calling … telling me hold her in the winter, but baby I can’t because I’m a sinner—before returning to Annie Oakley Drive, still alone.

M. Wonder – “Magic City” [Download]

Because one can never have too many songs about strippers, R&B artist M. Wonder sings praises for the art of stage dancing in vivid, poetic detail on this bass-heavy banger. But with so many strip clubs in Vegas, did you really have to go all the way to Atlanta for inspiration?
