After nearly a decade, Charlie Palmer is calling it quits at his eponymously named restaurant in a South Coast Plaza Bloomingdale’s in Orange County next Tuesday. Taking over the space will be Las Vegas’ own Block 16 Hospitality, which confirms it will transform the room into a Holsteins, the flagship for which is open at the Cosmopolitan. Word is that the restaurant will debut next quarter, and the menu will mirror the Las Vegas original.
Following Michel Richard’s decamping from his from 24-hour diner Central in the Caesars Palace lobby, the space has finally been rebranded as Café Americano. While an official announcement has yet to come, a website is already in place for the VE Restaurant Group venture, which will offer approachable all-day (and late-night) fare. As for the original Central operators, we hear they have inked a deal to open a 24-hour concept at the Hard Rock Hotel—perhaps in the current Nobu space?
