Electric Daisy Carnival is about to make its way back to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on June 19-21, and Insomniac Events released its anticipated lineup last week. On it, the usual suspects include eight of Forbes’ 12 highest-paid DJs: Calvin Harris, Avicii, Tiësto, Afrojack, Kaskade, Hardwell, Armin van Buuren and Steve Angello. Returning act Oliver Heldens rightfully made the list, but hopefully this year his set time will be at a more convenient hour than his early opening set last year, for which hardly anyone showed up. And notable newcomers include such rapidly rising talents as Dr. Fresch, Jackal and Kiesza.

A rumored tiff between Insomniac founder Pasquale Rotella and HARD Events founder and CEO Gary Richards may have also impacted this year’s lineup. Not one DJ on the previously announced lineup for Southern California’s HARD Summer Music Festival will be performing at EDC in Las Vegas, which means the festival roster is lacking in certain powerhouse acts. Heavy hitters Diplo, Skrillex, Porter Robinson and Dillon Francis were left off of the billing, but will all still be performing in town during festival weekend at their respective resident nightclubs.

Aside from that bit of intrigue, the lineup is exactly what everyone expected: hundreds of the world’s biggest and best DJs, from the Dutch big-room kings and noncommercial house crew to the trap-heavy bass heads. All will celebrate their Las Vegas homecoming during those three nights under the electric sky.
