Playboy  Playmate? Check. Better half to the world’s most beloved playboy? Yep. Mogul? Wait—what? Indeed, she’s locked in an encore as resident DJ for Rehab’s Bikini Invitational, revealed a new season of her eponymous loungewear line and nabbed a big-name product sponsorship. Meet the surprisingly enterprising Crystal Hefner.

Do you consider yourself an entrepreneur?

Yes. I’m always working on something, whether it’s designing a clothing line, creating a new song to play at Rehab or pursuing a new business venture. I really enjoy starting out with an idea and seeing it all the way through to completion.

So, what brings you back for a second year at Rehab?

One of the highlights from last summer’s residency is the energy that the crowd at Rehab brings. Being surrounded by thousands of beautiful people, and having everyone enjoy the music and have a great time is such an amazing feeling.

If your life story were made into a movie, what would the theme song be?

“Good Time” by Owl City, featuring Carly Rae Jepsen. The hook of the song is, “It’s always a good time,” which I feel is the perfect description of where I am right now with my life.

Does Hef like EDM?

I introduce him to newer music, and he introduces me to the classics. It’s a perfect balance.

Tell us about your sponsorship with Pioneer.

Pioneer has had a huge impact on my DJ career. I worked with them for [the] VH1 Save the Music [Foundation]. They believed in me, and that means so much.

You had a studio built in the Playboy Mansion. Did you work with a sound designer or engineer? Do you mix your own songs?

I had some of my friends help me set up the studio. Right now, I am currently dabbling [with] Ableton, and starting to produce my own tracks. I have an EP coming out this summer with some of my favorite sounds.

Is there a producer you’re dying to work with?

Calvin Harris—he is hands down my favorite.

What’s the inspiration behind your loungewear designs?

The inspiration is comfy, cozy and flattering everyday pieces that women can wear around the home or out and about. It’s important to me that the collection is not only comfortable, but also cute at the same time.

What are your favorite pieces from the spring collection?

The most versatile ones, the pieces you can wear to the gym, Starbucks or to bed. There are some really cool cardigan wraps in the spring collection that are very versatile, super comfortable and affordable.

Those “secret” Playboy Mansion tunnels revealed by turned out to be a hoax, but do you have a real Mansion secret that you can share?

That was so funny! Hef showed those to me on April Fool’s Day, and I actually got a few calls and texts from friends about it. One of the Mansion walls has a secret door that no one knows about that leads to a hidden wine cellar. I have a video of it on my YouTube channel.  It is called “Secrets of the Playboy Mansion.” The Mansion was built during Prohibition, so the wine cellar is where the previous owners hid their stash.

When you’re in Las Vegas, what are your favorite spots to shop and dine?

One of my favorite places to shop is the Forum Shops at Caesars. It has everything there, from top designers to the Apple store, and great restaurants as well. When I need to take a break, I like to eat at Sushi Roku, The Palm or Spago. If it’s before my DJ set, then my go-to place is Pink Taco.
