Metropolitan Opera stars will collaborate with local voices in Opera Las Vegas’ production of Madama Butterfly. Witness big names such as Inna Los and Viktor Antipenko work alongside Stephanie Weiss of the UNLV Department of Music and Brian James Myer, a UNLV Music graduate, in the tale about a devoted wife’s trials and tribulations. See it June 12 and 14 at UNLV’s Judy Bayley Theater.


If you’ve got a short attention span and a knack for sexy, provocative vampiresses, check out Vampire Lesbians of Sodom. The one-act, 75-minute Off-Broadway satire about the rivalry between two vampires hits the Onyx Theatre at 11 p.m. June 12. Expect blood, burlesque and banter.

J Boog, Maxi Priest and Yellowman are among the acts slated to perform at the 14th annual Reggae in the Desert music festival at Clark County Government Center Ampitheater. Aside from music, the festival will also bring Caribbean food vendors and exhibits. The upbeats and skanking begin at noon June 13.
