Celebrate pool season with some of the biggest names in hip-hop, reggae and rock with Foxtail Pool and Vegas Seven’s Summer Live Concert Series at SLS Las Vegas.
The party kicks off July 4 with Canadian EDM tag-team MSTRKFT. Still making crowds bounce since 2009’s stellar genre-crossing Fist of God and slaying remixes in the interim, they recently set Brooklyn Bowl ablaze. Expect another scorcher poolside.
Reggae and alt-rock sensation Matisyahu keeps the party going July 11, followed by an old school hip-hop blowout July 18 with Sir Mix-a-Lot, Treach and Kay Gee of Naughty by Nature, Tha Alkaholiks, Young MC and Digital Underground’s Shock G. We’re gonna need to see your hands in the air for “Hip Hop Hooray” and “The Humpty Dance.” Big butts not required, but we hear Sir Mix-a-Lot is fond of them.
The throwback theme continues when Hoobastank, P.O.D. and Alien Ant Farm perform some of the biggest rock hits of the early 2000s on July 25 in tandem with the Vegas Beer and Music Festival. You’ve got plenty of time to practice your “Smooth Criminal” lean.
The rest of the series continues through mid-September, with “Shake Ya Ass” rapper Mystikal—who recently reemerged on the funky “Feel Right” on Mark Ronson’s Uptown Special—indie-pop duo Matt and Kim, pop-punk outfit Plain White T’s and more acts to be announced.
Tickets go on sale Thursday at VegasSeven.com/SLS, starting at $20 per event (note: the July 25 show coincides with the Vegas Beer and Music Festival, with tickets starting at $45). All-inclusive summer passes are also available for $150 for a limited time.
