Flosstradamus Gets XS Moving, Firebeatz Heats Up Marquee

Thursday, August 6

Break out the floral button-ups, gold chains and cigars, and head to the Mob Museum for Hot Havana Nights. The event boasts live Cuban-American jazz, dancers, casino games and food reminiscent of old Vegas’ Havana-inspired casino resorts. It’s like Scarface without the blood or guns! Purchase tickets at TheMobMuseum.org, and use promo code “vegasseven” to get 10 percent off. (300 Stewart Ave., 6 p.m., TheMobMuseum.org.)

Friday, August 7

There’s truly nothing better than a great pair: peanut butter and jelly. Wayne and Garth. Fall Out Boy and Wiz Khalifa. Yeah, you read that right. The latter two make a stop at Mandalay Bay Events Center on the Boys of Zummer Tour. They’ll be joined by Georgia rapper Hoodie Allen. He’s known for rapping over Death Cab for Cutie and Ellie Goulding samples, so he’s just adding to the multi-genre madness. Talk about variety! (In Mandalay Bay, 7 p.m., MandalayBay.com.) If you’re not into the mainstream stuff, Beauty Bar hosts Under the Moon. This lunar dance party features two guests: hip-hop jazz-fusion quartet The Lique and Los Angeles electronic duo Magic Bronson. Prepare for an out-of-this-world evening. (517 Fremont St., 9 p.m., TheBeautyBar.com.)

“Safe and Sound” hit-makers Capital Cities return to Drai’s for another live performance. One half of the duo, Ryan Merchant, said (in an interview with Ocean Drive magazine) it took seven or eight tries to create the perfect version of “Safe and Sound.” We hope the Los Angeles-based pair sports the same spiffy tuxedos as they did in the music video, even though they’ll play outdoors. We know it’s unbearably hot out there, but c’mon, guys: Do it for the Vine! (In the Cromwell, 10:30 p.m., DraisNightlife.com.)

Sunday, August 9

We don’t know about you, but we like to spend the dog days of summer avoiding the blistering heat by relaxing in air-conditioned rooms, taking in the brisk Wi-Fi and reflecting on some of our favorite moments of this year—like EDC. Remember Insomniac’s #WeAreWideAwake? The PSA featured several DJs who urged festivalgoers to rave responsibly. One act featured in the video is Dutch electro house masters Firebeatz. Give them props for spreading a good message when they appear at Marquee Dayclub, then dance to the blaring horns of their latest single, “Samir’s Theme.” Make sure to look out for your fellow ravers, though. The men behind the booth will appreciate it. (In the Cosmopolitan, 11 a.m., MarqueeLasVegas.com.) If EDM isn’t your thing, take to Green Valley Ranch’s intimate adults-only pool for “Flashback Features.” Tonight, the 1986 rom-com Pretty in Pink is on the docket. Enjoy this classic film poolside with a classic cocktail to conclude the week. (At Green Valley Ranch, 8 p.m., GreenValleyRanch.SCLV.com.)

Monday, August 10

We know, it’s hot out there, but break out the hoodies because Chicago-based trap duo Flosstradamus hits XS for Movement Mondays. The self-proclaimed HDYBYZ (that’s “Hoodie Boyz,” if you didn’t know) are bound to deliver the same speaker-rattling and bass-boomin’ sets that thousands of fans in the HDYNATION (ahem: “Hoodie Nation”) have fallen in love with over the years. Despite the weather, the two need to stay in character, right? (In Encore, 10 p.m., XSLasVegas.com.)

Tuesday, August 11

Oui, oui! French house giant Tchami makes his way to Omnia. The “T” in his name is silent, but his latest single “After Life” sure isn’t. The song has been making the club rounds since its release in March. Fellow DJs, including Jauz, DJ Snake and Mercer, love the tune so much they’ve contributed reinterpretations for a remix EP. We’re big fans of the song, and we would hate to see him become a one-hit wonder, so hopefully this isn’t the last we hear from Tchami. He’s sure to play the song at Omnia. And if you’re not a fan of the house in the house, DJ Shift will change gears with a variety of music at Heart of Omnia. (In Caesars Palace, 10:30 p.m., OmniaNightclub.com.)

Wednesday, August 12

On Wednesdays, we get wet. Take to Wet Republic for Wet at Night and a bumpin’ set by New York duo the Chainsmokers. With the rise in popularity of selfie sticks, you should encourage them to make an updated remix of “#SELFIE”! (At MGM Grand, 10:30 p.m., WetRepublic.com.)
