MOUSE IN THE HOUSE

After nearly eight years between albums and the departure of Eric Judy and Johnny Marr, Modest Mouse finally released Strangers to Ourselves in March. The band heads to Brooklyn Bowl on Aug. 20 ($55) with a fine collection of new songs.

THE ROAD IS HIS

Singer-songwriter-activist Jackson Browne is already in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, but he’s still releasing new material, such as last year’s Standing in the Breach. Browne plays the Pearl on Aug. 21 ($64-$124).

ON SALE NOW

I wasn’t sure it was a good idea when Josh Tillman left Fleet Foxes to go solo as Father John Misty. Then came two dazzling albums, and I realized yeah, it was. Tillman plays the Cosmopolitan’s Boulevard Pool on Oct. 15 ($23) with special guest Mikal Cronin.
