Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Jill Scott can sing anything. She could make the Yellow Pages sound like the climax of an Italian opera. Scott welcomed the crowd with impassioned renditions of “Fool’s Gold” and “Closure” from her latest neo-soul album, Woman. With the sexy “Crown Royal,” Scott seduced the audience into her bedroom, moaning and humming into the microphone in a convincing imitation of “pleasuring it.” “Cross My Mind” was another crowd favorite that saw “Little Jilly From Philly” poetically reminiscing about the pleasures of loving the wrong man. And Scott took her time singing “He Loves Me (Lyzel in E Flat)” before showing off her operatic chords, using a flawless upper register to conclude the song and draw a rousing applause.★★★★★
