Drake Made Carbone and Nobu’s Hotline Bling Over the Weekend

Last weekend Drake and Las Vegas had a lot more than in common than just light and space artist James Turrell.

The rapper who released the video for his song “Hotline Bling,” which quickly became the most popular meme of the week—Drizzy goofily dancing in a bath of colorful, changing soft light, similar to what one would associate with the work of Turrell, who has two prominent installations within The Shops at Crystals—celebrated his 29th birthday at the newly opened Carbone in Aria on Friday night. In the private dining room, a multitude of large gold balloons spelled out Happy Birthday and OVO, the name of Drake’s record label. After dinner, the artist formerly known as Aubrey Graham threw an intimate bash inside the Nobu Villa at Caesars Palace, where his dad, Dennis, demonstrated exactly where Drake gets those smooth dance moves into the wee hours of the morning.

Drizzy was also spotted at Range 702 doing some target practice and at Pole Position Raceway. Because it’s his birthday and he can go-kart race if he wants to.

Thank you for everything. Tonight is one of the few moments I will stop to enjoy this.
