2014’s Day and Night of the Killer Costumes at Palms

Oct. 28-31, Halloween Week 2015

Surrender takes no prisoners with its Mad Max-themed landscape stacked with acts such as Lil Jon, Laidback Luke and DJ Snake. Kick it off on the sexy side with DJ Snake on October 28 and a ladies Sexiest Costume contest with $20,000 in cash and prizes at stake. Laidback Luke takes over the controls on October 30 with a superhero-themed Super You and Me party, while Lil Jon walks us through All Hallows Eve proper.

Oct. 29-31, TRIQ or Treat

Take a trip down The LINQ Promenade for the annual TRIQ (see what they did there?) or Treat from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. October 29 and 30. Get into the spirit when street musicians, spooky decorations, stilt walkers, face painters and zombies take over the faux city block, with retail shops passing out candy to families. Even the High Roller observation wheel gets in on the action with special holiday-themed patterns and a zombified staff throughout the attraction. The costume contest bash pops off at 9 p.m. on October 31; the most ghoulish get-up wins $5,000. Remember that this is a family affair, so keep it clean, folks.

Everyone’s favorite neon graveyard in Las Vegas hosts its annual Boneyard Bash. This year, the family-friendly festival sports a Haunted Fairy Tale theme, so prepare your prince, princess and evil witch attire—for the most fun you can have after dark at the Neon Museum. In addition to raffle prizes and giveaways, enjoy complimentary beer, wine and signature cocktails (while supplies last), birthday cupcakes, hot dogs from Cheffinis and music by Totecity. A costume contest will determine who’s the fairest of them all.

Oct. 30-31, Town SCARY Halloween

Kids of all ages are welcome to trick-or-treat through the streets of Town Square from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The block party includes rides, and undead maze for big kids, bounce houses and costume contests sponsored by KLUC 98.5 and Pediped footwear.

Oct. 31, Club Madrid, Sunset Station

The showroom at Sunset Station has $1,000 with your name on it—that is, if you also happen to have the best costume on October 31. First, sign up to be a Station Casino Boarding Pass Member. Then, sign up for the Club Madrid contest from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m., with no cover to get in and a lucky winner will be named by 11:30. Local favorites Zowie Bowie headlines the night.

Oct. 31, Day and Night of the Killer Costumes

Hit up two parties at one venue with Ghostbar’s annual Halloween bash. For the sun-loving monsters, there’s the day contest that starts at 1 p.m., whose winner takes home $2,000 and gets to soak in some bottle service at Ghostbar. Second place gets $1,000 plus a bottle, while third place winners receive a one-night stay and dinner for two at Nove Italiano. The freaks come out at night for the 9 p.m. contest, which also comes with a bigger booty. First place wins a whopping $5,000 plus a one-night stay in a Sky Villa Suite. Second and third place receive $2,500 and $1,000, respectively, with a bottle thrown in for good measure.

Oct. 31, Treat Street

Spend the afternoon with your family trick-or-treating the streets of Downtown Summerlin, but don’t forget that Fido likes to get in on the fun too. The second annual Dress Your Dog Halloween contest takes place at 3:30 p.m. near Macy’s where dogs will walk the runway and a panel of judges votes on the most creatively dressed canine. Kids can also trunk-or-treat from more than 50 decorated classic cars, then take a wacky family portrait to commemorate the festive day.
