Sinatra lovers already know that December 12 marks what would have been The Voice’s 100th birthday. They probably already have a bottle or two of Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Select socked away just for the occasion. With the holidays nearing, if you have a super fan in your life, pay attention: Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Century is in the house. Or in the warehouse, that is, at Wirtz Beverage Nevada.
Step aside, Pappy nuts: Swaggering into all Total Wine & More, Lee’s Discount Liquors and Liquor Outlet locations, as well as Liquor Locker in McCarran International Airport by November 10, Sinatra Century is a one-time, small-batch bottling of 100 distinctive Sinatra barrels, hand-selected by master distiller Jeff Arnett. To sweeten the deal, in addition to the one liter bottle of smoky, tropical, 100-proof whiskey, each individually numbered luxury gift box includes a tie clip memory stick loaded with a selection of previously unreleased recordings titled “Sinatra Live at the Sands in 1966.”
At about $500 each, the bulk of these bottles are headed to duty-free shops around the world. Like Jack Daniel’s, Las Vegas held a special place in Sinatra’s heart, so the product has made its way here. In fact, if you Instagram a toast to the Chairman of the Board, you could win a Rat Pack trip to Los Angeles that includes a helicopter getaway to Vegas (visit JackDaniels.com/Sinatra-Century-Toastmakers for the rules). There will also be a flurry of events citywide on December 12, including parties at Hakkasan and Omnia, the Franklin bar in Delano, Bound bar in the Cromwell and Lobby Bar in Caesars Palace.
And if you do manage to snag a bottle, just remember to drink it Frank’s way: three fingers of whiskey, two rocks and a splash of water.
